In 2014, Neurolearning was founded by the esteemed learning specialists, Drs. Brock and Fernette Eide, in partnership with the visionary technology guru, Nils Lahr.
Their collective vision was to revolutionize the field by developing exceptional, precise, and affordable tools. These tools would empower individuals with diverse learning and cognitive styles, including dyslexia, to surpass limitations and achieve extraordinary success.

Brock L. Eide has an MD from the University of Washington School of Medicine, (’88) and an MA from the Committee on Social Thought of the University of Chicago (’01). He received his post-graduate medical training at the University of Pennsylvania (‘88-‘91) and University of California, San Francisco (’91-’95), and studied medical ethics and humanities at the University of Chicago while working in the University of Chicago Physicians Group.
Brock and Frenette Eide are co-authors of the books The Mislabeled Child (Hyperion, 2006) and The Dyslexic Advantage (Penguin/Hudson Street, 2011; Revised and updated 2023). The Eides are also co-founders of the 501c3 Dyslexic Advantage nonprofit, with over 100,000 worldwide members, providing information on how to identify, cultivate, and use the essential strengths of the dyslexic mind; and of Neurolearning SPC, a mission-driven company that seeks to provide high-quality, low-cost, mobile app-based dyslexia screening to English-speaking individuals age 7 to 70. The Eides have been consultants to the US President’s Council on Bioethics, visiting lecturers on dyslexia at Stanford’s Graduate School of Education and Hunter College, and have lectured and keynoted at many conferences and events throughout the world. Their work has been featured in The Times (of London), The Washington Post, The New York Times, Scientific American Mind, Wired, and many other publications, as well as many documentary and television appearances. They have also consulted and given presentations for corporations including Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, F5, the BBC, and GCHQ on topics including the cognitive benefits of dyslexia, neurodiversity in the workplace, and workplace accessibility.
Fernette Eide has an AB from Harvard College (’83) and an MD from the University of California, San Francisco (’88). She interned in Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and returned to UCSF for her residency in neurology (’89-92) and research fellowship in neuroscience (’92-95). She was an assistant professor of neurology at the University of Chicago from 1995-2001 before leaving to form the Eide Neurolearning Clinic with her husband.
