About the Eides
Drs. Brock and Fernette Eide live and work
in Edmonds, Washington, where they have a national referral practice
specializing in 'Neurolearning'. Their book,
The Mislabeled Child
is coming August 2006.
They bring a state-of-the-art
understanding of brain-based learning differences to show parents, teachers, and
other professionals how to maximize learning and success for children in school
and beyond. The offer training seminars and keynote lectures for a wide range of
professional and lay groups on topics such as : Neurolearning, Creative Problem
Solving, Reading Disorders and Dyslexia, Auditory and Visual Processing
Disorders, Sensory Processing Impairment, and more. Brock L. Eide, M.D., M.A., is a graduate Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington, and a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He has trained in clinical medicine and basic science research at the National Institutes of Health, the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and the University of California-San Francisco School of Medicine. He received his Masters Degree from the Committee on Social Thought at the University of Chicago. He was also a fellow at the University of Chicago's Center for Clinical Medical Ethics, and a practicing member of the University of Chicago Physician's Group. He has published widely on topics including basic science research, medical ethics, literature in medicine, and learning disorders. Fernette Eide, M.D. is a graduate Magna Cum Laude with Highest Departmental Honors from Harvard University. She received her M.D. from the University of California-San Francisco School of Medicine and her post-graduate training in neurology and basic neuroscience research at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California-San Francisco. She has been on the Neurology faculties of University of Washington, the University of California-San Francisco, and University of Chicago School of Medicine. She is published widely in the fields of basic neurobiology and learning disorders.
